The next generation of the so-called Smart car's tiny Fortwo
model has been engineered to meet all U.S. safety and environmental
standards, the Detroit Free Press reported Friday.
They go on sale in Europe in 2007, said a DaimlerChrysler
spokesman.
In the next six months or so, he said, the company must
determine if the tiny cars will be profitable in the United States.
