Wade had 23 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Heat, who were playing their second game since losing center Shaquille O'Neal with a sprained right ankle.

Antoine Walker added 18 points and Alonzo Mourning had 11 points, 11 rebounds and a big defensive play in the final seconds for Miami, which nearly lost after blowing a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Carter finished with 32 points on 14-of-21 shooting from the field, and Richard Jefferson added 20 points and 15 rebounds for New Jersey, which had beaten the Bulls by a point Saturday night.

Carter's jumper with 45.1 seconds left tied the game at 89.
