MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- A U.S. automotive trade group says it is calling on truck dealers across the country to donate badly needed vehicles for earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The National Automobile Dealers Association said in a release issued Friday from McLean, Va., that it is urging its member truck dealers to respond to a call made Thursday by former U.S. President Bill Clinton at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in which he said Haiti relief workers needed 100 light trucks "yesterday" to deliver food and medical supplies to earthquake victims.

NADA said Starling Chevrolet in St. Cloud, Fla., was participating in the program.

"The road to recovery in Haiti is long, but America's new car and truck dealers can make a difference", said NADA Chairman John McEleney, appealing for donations of rough-terrain vehicles, small trucks and cargo trucks and pick-up trucks, new or used.
