NEW YORK, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Prices for March delivery crude oil rose in New York Monday morning, holding above $71 per barrel despite continued stress in equity markets.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Markets in China, Hong Kong, Japan and the United States fell Monday, although European markets in France, Britain and Germany posted gains.

In New York, the price of light, sweet crude oil added 46 cents to $71.65 per barrel, close to a two-month low. Heating oil prices, which fell along with oil last week, rebounded slightly, adding 0.0086 cents to $1.8834 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices added 0.0026 cents to $1.889 per gallon. Natural gas prices lost 0.096 cents to $5.419 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.652 per gallon Monday, down from Sunday's $2.657, AAA said.
