Obama is scheduled to meet Thursday with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and is expected to discuss how to get North Korea to resume six-party nuclear disarmament talks in Beijing, The Washington Post reported. Obama and Lee also were expected to discuss strategies to persuade North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons.

The two leaders also were to talk about ways of thawing the ratification process for a U.S.-South Korea free trade agreement that could generate tens of billions of dollars worth of business for both countries, the Post said. The pact, negotiated before either Obama or Lee were elected president, has been stalled since it was signed in 2007.
