LOS ANGELES, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Michael Chiklis is executive producing and will star in "No Ordinary Family", a new drama pilot for ABC, the show's producers said.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Chiklis is best known for his work on "The Shield" and "The Commish." He was nominated in 2002 and 2003 for an Emmy for best actor in a drama series for his performance in "The Shield", winning the Emmy in 2002.

His upcoming project is about a family that suddenly develops special powers, Variety said.

Dave Semel is to direct the pilot and will also serve as an executive producer.

"The only thing better than watching Michael Chiklis act is getting to write for him", producer Greg Berlanti told the entertainment industry trade newspaper. "Our team is over the moon."
