Travolta met with Marty Ingels Monday at Amici, a Brentwood, Calif., eatery, where they discussed the project, CNN reported.

Travolta played it close to the vest when asked if he was going to play the Dapper Don, but Ingels, executive producer of the movie, was less shy with a TMZ crew.

"Travolta's going to play the life of John Gotti. That's why we were meeting", Ingels said.

Gotti died in 2002 while serving a life prison sentence.

TMZ reports James Franco has been cast as John Gotti Jr.
