"He was having severe abdominal pains and went to the hospital", Sheen's representative confirmed to UsMagazine.com.

No other details regarding the actor's ailment or condition were immediately reported. UsMagazine said Sheen has not been discharged from the hospital.

An unidentified source told People.com his parents, Martin and Janet, are at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills to see him and "are very concerned."

Sheen, 45, is the star of the sitcom "Two and a Half Men."

People.com said the show is on hiatus this week and is scheduled to resume production Monday.

Sheen has spent several stints in rehab battling his addictions to drugs and alcohol.
