FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- A Florida man says he is miffed at a judge's order that he be paid $1,200 for his missing Chihuahua, which was allegedly stolen from outside a bar.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Brian Dortort, 50, Oakland Park, told the South Florida Sun Sentinel he would have rather had his missing dog back, and doesn't believe the alleged dog-napper, Channing Reynolds, has the $1,200.

"I'm very dissatisfied", said Dortort.

The Sun Sentinel said Sunday that the court order was no small-claims case. Reynolds was actually extradited from his home in Pennsylvania last month in order to plead no contest to a charge of grand theft.

Reynolds also claimed a Fort Lauderdale man named Jason had the dog, but neither has been tracked down.

The wheels of justice continue to turn on Tuesday when a hearing will be held to determine if Reynolds should pay the state the $350 it cost to transport him to Florida.
