GAINESVILLE, Fla., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- About 25 Florida Army National Guard soldiers were injured when their bus overturned as they were returning to Camp Blanding, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The soldiers from the 690th Military Police Company were training for deployment to Afghanistan, recently completing their combat life-saver training, the Florida Times-Union reported.

Officials said none of the injuries were life-threatening, the newspaper said Tuesday. One person was airlifted to the University of Florida hospital, while others were taken to hospitals in Gainesville, Starke and Orange Park.

Officials said a four-bus convoy was returning to the base from its training session. One driver failed to see another bus slowing, veered off the road, over-compensated and flipped onto its side, officers said. The two-lane Florida Route 21 was closed for about four hours after the accident.

Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Leeper said no charges have been filed and the accident was under investigation.
