VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Anette Norberg keyed a late comeback Friday that brought Sweden a 7-6 win over Canada and the gold medal in women's Olympic curling.

Sweden trailed by two points heading into the 10th end, but Norberg, having the last shot as Sweden's skip, came through to create a 6-6 tie and force overtime.

The Swedes earned a point in the 11th end for the victory, giving them their second consecutive Olympic title. Sweden also had a 7-6 victory in the 2006 gold medal match against Switzerland.

In the four women's Olympic curling tournaments, Canada has won a gold, two bronze and a silver medal.

China, making its Olympic curling debut, won the bronze by defeating Switzerland 12-6.

Canada had defeated Sweden 6-2 when they met in the round-robin portion of the tournament. The Canadians went into the medal round as the top seed by virtue of their 8-1 record in preliminary play.

The men's bronze and gold medal matches will be played on Saturday. Switzerland and Sweden will meet for the bronze. Norway will take on Canada in the championship contest.
