Molinari, Raphael Jacquelin and Miguel Angel Jimenez shot 7-under-par 65s and Peter Hanson had a 67 to share first place at 11-under 133 after 36 holes.

Paul Casey (67 Friday), Darren Clarke (65), Stephen Gallacher (64) and James Kingston (67), are knotted in fifth place one stroke behind the leaders. First-round leader Johan Edfors (71) and Francesco Molinari (69), Edoardo's brother, are tied for ninth at 9-under 135.

Edoardo Molinari opened play on the back nine of the Rolf Golf Club with six birdies. He then had 11 consecutive pars before a finishingt birdie at No. 9.

"It's good fun", he said. "It was quite windy at first and so it was a great start obviously.

"It was a little bit frustrating in the middle. I had a lot of chances and was not putting very well, but it was good to end with a birdie."

Jacquelin, also playing the back nine first, had four birdies in his first six holes and finished with eight birdies and a bogey. Jimenez had eight birdies and a bogey at the par-5 14th hole and Henson's round featured a ninth-hole eagle, birdies on Nos. 11-14 and 3 and two bogeys.
