| CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Startled visitors at a New Zealand wildlife park were forced to take refuge in a shuttle bus when three cheetahs escaped their compound, officials said. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The animals, which crawled through a hole in a fence then swam across a protective moat, were seen prowling in the public area of the Orana Wildlife Park, near Christchurch, Thursday. Lucy Tame, 25, and her mother said they began to feel concerned when they watched the animals emerge from the water and then edge to within six feet of them. The pair made a dash for the passing zoo shuttle. An official of the park, which advertises "exciting encounters" with its animals, said about 100 people were taken to safe areas while the cheetahs were recaptured. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
