LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles County coroner's office said Thursday socialite Casey Johnson's death was natural and caused by diabetic ketoacidosis.

The Johnson & Johnson heiress, who suffered from diabetes all her life, died Jan. 4 at her Los Angeles home. She was 30.

E! News said the condition that killed her was triggered by low levels of insulin in her system.

"I always knew that and that's why I would get so upset when I hear bloggers and reporters talk about her past heavy drug abuse problems, insinuating that might have been a reason she died", Johnson's former fiancee Tila Tequila told E! News.
