Called Keep America Safe, Cheney said Monday the effort will call attention to the differences between foreign policies pursued by President Barack Obama, which she said "are so radical across the board", and those of her father and former President George W. Bush, the Washington publication Politico reported.

"Whether you're a Republican or a Democrat, you want the nation to be strong and so many steps this president is taking are making the nation weaker", Cheney said.

Politico said the emergence of Keep America Safe marks then end of a de facto partisan truce on Afghanistan and many other foreign policy issues, marked by broad agreements between Obama and Republican U.S. presidential nominee Sen. John McCain of Arizona in last year's campaign.

Cheney's group has reportedly produced a fund-raising video, to be promoted on conservative media outlets such as the Drudge Report, that mocks Obama as a lightweight more interested in golf than in defending America.
