NEW YORK, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Meghan McCain, daughter of former U.S. presidential nominee John McCain, is confirmed to serve as co-host of an upcoming episode of "The View", ABC said.

Meghan McCain, 25, is to appear on the Feb. 3 edition of the female-centric chat show.

The author of "My Dad John McCain" and blogger for TheDailyBeast.com previously served as co-host of "The View" Sept. 9-10, 2009, and April 23, 2009.

The daytime talk show co-stars Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd.
