POLL: Your Opinion

  What Do You Think

LOS ANGELES, La., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- In a posting on her Facebook page, pop star Macy Gray has asked her fans to decide whether she should perform in Israel next month or boycott the country.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

"I'm getting alot of letters from activists urging/begging me to boycott by NOT performing in protest of Apartheid against the Palestinians. What the Israeli government is doing to the Palestinians is disgusting, but I wana go. I gotta lotta fans there I dont want to cancel on and I ... dont know how my NOT going changes anything. What do you think? Stay or go?", she wrote on her official Facebook page.

Gray, 43, is scheduled to perform two shows in Tel Aviv next month.

Thursday morning almost 4,000 fans had responded to her query.

One fan identified as Daniel implored the singer to see Israel as a country that is a first responder to assist in international disasters. "Macy Gray, if you identify as a woman of color, or simply as a human. I urge you to join me and many others who see Israel as a place where Africans from Sudan, and Eritrea fight tooth and nail, jump over borders to seek the freedom that every Israeli enjoys."

"Does fighting for your land means Terrorism... and the killing of children, demolishing houses and stealing land what do you call this? At the end you have your own opinion and you do what you want , " a fan named Salam wrote.
