SYDNEY, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Australian actor Paul Hogan plans to sue the Australian government for as much as $80 million over a failed investigation into his taxes.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Two film industry figures plan to testify that Hogan lost up to $15 million a year during the five-year investigation by the Australian Crime Commission, Hogan's lawyer told News Limited.

The ACC announced in November it had dropped its criminal investigation into Hogan as it was "not justified in the public interest."

The "Crocodile Dundee" star has demanded the ACC apologize, saying he was "publicly branded a criminal, a fraud, a money launderer and tax evader."
