LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Roxanne Marshall says her younger sister, Rielle Hunter, still loves former Sen. John Edwards and thinks they will be together some day.

Edwards, 56, a Democratic presidential hopeful for the 2008 presidential election, had an extramarital affair with Hunter while his wife, Elizabeth, was battling cancer. The relationship between Edwards and Hunter produced a daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, who the former senator recently acknowledged as his own. John and Elizabeth Edwards announced last week they have separated.

Asked on TV's "Inside Edition" if Hunter still loves Edwards, Marshall replied: "Oh yeah She still believes that they will be together."

Marshall told the program in an interview to air Friday that Hunter will never speak publicly about the affair as long as she believes she and Edwards have a chance as a couple. Marshall also said her sister is now relieved that her daughter's paternity has been validated by Edwards in the statement he released last week.

"She is very happy. What mother wouldn't be, especially after his denying it", Marshall said.
