| WASHINGTON, June 24 (UPI) -- Retail sales in the United States declined marginally during the week ending June 21, the International Council of Shopping Centers-USB reported Tuesday. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS Shopping declined by 0.6 percent for the week but gained 2.2 percent from a year ago, the report said. The retail group's report said as retailers have geared up for summer sales items, but cooler weather during the week "pared some seasonal demand." Temperatures averaged 2 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than a year ago, ICSC said. Gasoline prices "stabilized" during the week, the report said, averaging $4.079 per gallon across the country. Shoppers, however, are continuing to show thrift with their federal tax rebates, the report said. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
