SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS More than two dozen workers were in the vicinity when the accident occurred about 11:15 a.m. at the state-owned Huisen Liangshuijing coal mine in Shaanxi province, Xinhua reported. The two miners who died were victims of "gas poisoning", doctors said. Rescuers were clearing the blocked tunnels in an attempt to reach the trapped miners, but their efforts were hampered by heavy smoke and dust, the state-run news agency reported. Despite the presence of deadly gas, local government officials would not rule out the possibility of survivors, Xinhua said. The cause of the roof collapse was being investigated. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
