NEW YORK, June 19 (UPI) -- The New York Yankees and the Seminole Tribe of Hollywood, Fla., are joining forces to build a chain of steak houses, it was announced Thursday.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The first restaurant of at least 25 NYY Steak restaurants will be constructed in the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, where the Seminoles also plan to build a 7,000-square-foot Hard Rock Restaurant, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

The Seminole Tribe purchased the Hard Rock Hotel and Restaurant Chain in 2006 for $965 million with casino proceeds, the newspaper said.

The tribe beat out about 50 other restaurants for the spot in Yankee Stadium, where the Yankees were looking for a high-end restaurant, the report said.

Seminole Council member Max Osceola, who attended the announcement at Yankee Stadium, said he has been a Yankee fan since he was a kid.

"I used to go to the games with my father to watch Elston Howard and Mickey Mantle and all the legends", Osceola said. "Now, to think that the tribe would be partners with a team that won 26 World Series is pretty amazing", he said.
