| LONDON, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- British actor Michael Caine says he is thankful his past cinematic successes allow him to be choosy when picking new movie scripts. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The 75-year-old actor, who has appeared in more than 100 films, said he has reached a level of success where he can essentially chose roles that truly interest him rather than just look for a paycheck, The Independent reported Saturday. "I've been very lucky", Caine said. "I don't have to work. I only work because I want to. I only do offers I simply cannot refuse." The "Blame It on Rio" actor said his success unfortunately came after the death of his father, who opposed Caine's acting career due to his early struggles. But Caine told the British newspaper he is convinced his father would be proud of his efforts since then, including the ongoing "Dark Knight" film series and being knighted. "I am my father -- a complete copy of him. Except he never got out", the actor said. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
