FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Organizers of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival in Florida say the upcoming event will feature widely diverse movies.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

FLIFF President Gregory von Hausch said this year's incarnation of the monthlong festival will feature a number of movies that accurately represent the "eclectic" fan base it has earned during previous runs, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Sunday.

"As our audience is quite eclectic, the most overriding concern we have

is to mirror their diversity with our programming", von Hausch said. "We try to find the most diverse mix possible, guaranteeing no one will like everything but everybody will find something for themselves."

Included in this year's festival, which runs from Wednesday until Nov. 11, are more than 200 movies that include nine world premieres.

The festival will kick off in rare form with the dramatic "Coyote" and will follow with quirky offerings such as the comedies "Play the Game" and "The Village Barbershop."

The Sun-Sentinel said the first day will also feature a special tribute to actor-director Paul Newman, who died Sept. 26 of complications of lung cancer.
