LONDON, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- British recording artists Elton John and Lily Allen traded barbs onstage during the GQ Men of the Year Awards Tuesday night in London.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Allen, who appeared intoxicated as she stood alongside John, began her introduction to a segment by declaring they had reached "a very special point in the evening", to which John remarked: "What? Are you going to have another drink?"

Allen then retorted: "(Expletive) off, Elton! You know what? I'm 40 years younger than you and I have my whole life ahead of me!"

John then responded, "I can still snort you under the table", prompting Allen to say, "I don't know what you're talking about."

After another moment or so of mumbling exchanges between the pair, Allen introduced a segment honoring the "heroes of the British Olympics team."

Video footage of the celebrity spat is posted on TMZ.com.
