SPOKANE, Wash., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- A veteran Seattle rock 'n' roll guitarist was killed by falling tree near Spokane, Wash., his family said.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Joseph Shikany, 58, was killed Monday at his family's lake cabin near Spokane when a storm blew a tree over onto him, his nephew told The Seattle Times. Paul Shikany said his uncle had been trying to secure his boat to a dock when the accident happened.

The newspaper said Shikany played guitar and bass for several well-known Seattle-area bands, including Magic Bus, Sex and Violins, PowerCell, N'SANE, Spike & the Impalers and The Davanos.
