COACHELLA, Calif., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. recording artist Natalie Cole is going back on the road this fall to support her new album "Still Unforgettable", Spotlight 29 Casino announced Monday.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The CD is the follow-up to her Grammy Award-winning album, "Unforgettable ... with Love."

The tour will feature Cole singing her interpretation of timeless standards from the American Songbook, as well as her signature hits, accompanied by a big band.

Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella Valley, Calif., said Cole is to appear there Jan. 17, 2009.

"The lyrics of these songs are about life", she said in a statement. "As a singer, they take me and my audience on a winsome journey. ... I still love recording and still love the stage, but like my dad, I have the most fun when I am in front of that glorious orchestra or that kick-butt big band."

Cole reportedly was hospitalized last month due to side effects from her chemotherapy treatment for hepatitis C, which were exacerbated by her busy work schedule.

The singer was diagnosed with the liver disease last April, but has been free of the hepatitis C virus since being treated last summer. She is believed to have contracted the virus more than two decades ago when she abused heroin, a former habit she has spoken candidly about.
