LOS ANGELES, July 3 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Val Kilmer and rapper Xzibit reportedly have signed up for roles in the remake of Abel Ferrara's 1992 film "Bad Lieutenant."

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Variety.com said Kilmer and Xzibit will join the cast led by Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes in the movie being helmed by Werner Herzog.

In the film, Cage plays a cop on the edge, while Kilmer will play his partner and Xzibit will portray his nemesis, the entertainment industry trade paper said.

Kilmer's film credits include "Real Genius", "Top Gun", "The Doors" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang." He recently finished work on "Streets of Blood."

Xzibit has had supporting roles in "Derailed" and "Gridiron Gang", and will soon be seen in "X Files: I Want to Believe."
