NEW YORK, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- A man has confessed to killing a woman on the roof above the New York nightclub where rapper Lil' Kim was celebrating her birthday, a police source said.

Citing information from an unnamed police source, the New York Daily News reported that Sayed Rahman confessed Thursday morning to luring Ingrid Rivera, who he said seemed intoxicated, to the roof of the Spotlight club by promising Rivera he could get her back into the club where she had been thrown out earlier.

Rivera reportedly had attended the party with a friend.

The police insider told the Daily News that instead of helping Rivera, Rahman, a 24-year-old club employee, attacked her, hitting her in the back of the head and then stuffing her corpse into a rooftop electrical room.

No charges had yet been filed in the death of Rivera, a ticket agent for British Airways at Kennedy Airport.
