TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A Florida newspaper says John McCain's campaign extended a personal apology to an African-American reporter who was ejected from a rally.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The Tallahassee Democrat said Wednesday that McCain spokesman Brian Rogers called reporter Stephen Price, who had been told to leave a press area in Panama City, Fla., by the Secret Service.

"I accept the apology", Price said. "I definitely wish I was never singled out."

The newspaper said Price was told to leave the area, which was restricted to national media. There were, however, other journalists from state newspapers who were allowed in.

The newspaper said Rogers told them that the McCain campaign had no control over the Secret Service detail.
