NEW YORK, July 1 (UPI) -- The New Jersey rock band Bon Jovi reportedly will play a free concert in New York City's Central Park this month.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The New York Daily News said the July 12 event is to be part of the preface to the upcoming Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

"I like baseball, but the world knows I'm a football guy", the newspaper quoted front-man Jon Bon Jovi as saying at a City Hall announcement Monday. "I own an arena team. I live and love football."

The band and Major League Baseball are to hand out 60,000 ducats across the city for the free show, the newspaper reported.
