SELMA, Ore., April 18 (UPI) -- Kristy Cook, the 24-year-old country singer from Oregon, doesn't have time to fret about being cut from "American Idol" -- she's busy making wedding plans.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Cook, dropped from "Idol's" rolls Wednesday, says her marquis cut diamond engagement ring has "quite a few diamonds on it", People magazine reported.

She and fiance Andy Dobner have been engaged since March 15, but the Selma, Ore., "Idol" contestant said she wanted that to keep the information to themselves so she could focus on her performance.

However, Dobner surprised her with a very public proposal when he repeated the question on "American Idol Extra", airing Thursday.

"He re-enacted the proposal and actually got down on his knees this time", Cook said. "The first time he didn't so he owed it to me."

A wedding date hasn't been set, but Cook said the couple's thinking of next June.
