| JEFFERSON, Ore., April 23 (UPI) -- The Animal Liberation Front has claimed responsibility for releasing 40 mink from a fur farm in Jefferson, Ore. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The Seattle Times reported Wednesday that the militant ALF said the mink will be better off away from the fur farm, to "to die free" rather than at the hands of captors. The group also said it destroyed the farm's breeding records. The group also threatened the Jefferson Fur Farm with further sabotage until the operation closed, the newspaper said. "We want to make it very clear that we will not be intimidated by the state's continued witch hunt against the Earth and animal liberation movements", the AFL press operation said in a statement. Fur Commission USA, which represents fur farms, said Tuesday that all the mink were recovered and returned to their pens after Monday's incident. The FBI and local law enforcement were investigating the incident, Fur Commission USA said. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
