LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Kevin Bacon reportedly has signed on to star in "The Booths", a Showtime drama series about John Wilkes Booth and his brothers.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Booth assassinated U.S. President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.

Variety.com said the show about Booth and his brothers Edwin and Junius Brutus Jr. is in development with Bacon as executive producer of the project.

The program will follow the siblings through the years leading up to Lincoln's assassination, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Bacon is best known for his roles in "Footloose", "A Few Good Men", "Murder in the First" and "Mystic River."
