SAN BERNADINO, Calif., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A man who committed a 2003 homicide allegedly inspired by a Slipknot song will spend at least 50 years in prison, a California judge has ruled.

San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge Colin Bilash sentenced Jason Lamar Harris, 25, to 50 years to life in prison Friday for the killing of 21-year-old Ray Taylor on May 23, 2003, the Riverside (Calif.) Press-Enterprise said.

Prosecutor Doug Poston alleged during a 2004 court hearing that Harris and co-defendant Amber Rose Riley, 21, decided to kill someone after listening to the Slipknot song "Disasterpiece." The heavy metal song details the slitting of an individual's throat, the Press-Enterprise said.

The newspaper said Riley also testified that before the couple attacked Taylor with butcher knives they had watched the film "Satan's School for Girls." Riley's trial on homicide charges is set to begin Sept. 22.

In addition to his lengthy prison sentence, Harris was ordered to pay $3,223 to Taylor's mother as restitution for funeral and counseling costs.
