| STARKE, Fla., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Authorities say child killer Richard Henyard was to become the 66th person executed in Florida since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS Barring a final-hour reprieve, Henyard, 34, was to be put to death by lethal injection at the Florida State Prison in Starke, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. The execution was scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday. Henyard was convicted of killing two sisters from Eustis, Fla., Jamilya Lewis, 7, and Jasmine Lewis, 3, and of raping and shooting their mother, Dorothy Lewis, in front of the girls in 1993. Dorothy Lewis, who recovered from her physical injuries and teaches third grade and is a part-time pastor in Marion County, Fla., wasn't expected to attend the execution, the Sun-Sentinel reported, noting Lewis repeatedly has said she opposes the death penalty. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
