| SAN FRANCISCO, June 28 (UPI) -- The National Rifle Association filed suit Friday challenging the San Francisco Housing Authority's gun possession ban in city-administered public housing. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The lawsuit came a day after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that individuals have a right to handguns in their homes, overturning a handgun ban in the District of Columbia, the Los Angeles Times reported. The NRA lawsuit, filed in federal court, claims San Francisco's ban violates residents' Second Amendment right to keep a handgun at home for self-protection. The suit is intended to lead to a ruling that clarifies whether cities and states can be sued under the Second Amendment, an NRA lawyer said. Washington is under federal jurisdiction.
