FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 17 (UPI) -- The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., police chief's wife allegedly sent her spouse a text message asking the location of his gun before shooting at him, say police.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

A search warrant obtained Wednesday recovered 62 text messages between Eleanor Adderley and Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Frank Adderley to "show the knowledge and intent" of the shooter before the July 8 incident, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Thursday.

Eleanor Adderley, 45, has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and firing a gun inside a dwelling. She allegedly shot at, but didn't hit, her husband. She said she was trying to scare him, the Sun-Sentinel said.

Frank Adderley was unharmed in the incident and paid his wife's $25,000 bond, the newspaper said.
