MIAMI, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- A federal jury in Miami has convicted a 20-year-old man on firearms charges in the shooting deaths of four people aboard the charter boat "Joe Cool" last year.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Guillermo Zarabozo was found guilty of providing the gun used to kill the vessel's captain, his wife and two crew members, but the jury deadlocked on whether Zarabozo actually took part in the kidnapping and killings that occurred, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Paul Huck declared a mistrial on the 12 more serious counts against Zarabozo and said jury selection for a retrial could begin as early as next week.

Prosecutors say Zarabozo and his accomplice, Kirby Archer, 36, wanted to commandeer the "Joe Cool" to Cuba after chartering the vessel for a fishing trip to Bimini.

All four victims were thrown overboard after being shot. Their bodies have never been recovered.
