Andrews' arrest early Monday was his second since the Patriots lost Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants. Two days into the off-season he was charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute after a traffic stop in Lowell, Mass., The Boston Globe reported.

The incident Monday began when Andrews' girlfriend called 911 and said he had left with a gun, Mansfield police said. The girlfriend later told police that he had been brandishing a weapon during an argument in their apartment.

Andrews, 24, was arrested. At an arraignment later that day, he was ordered held without bail pending a hearing Thursday.

In the marijuana case, Andrews pleaded guilty to possession in May and a judge granted him a one-year continuance that would spare him prison if he completed 100 hours of community service and participated in substance-abuse treatment. The latest arrest could be ruled a violation of probation.
