OSLO, Norway, May 8 (UPI) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki denied reports Tuesday that his nation has doubts that the Holocaust actually occurred.

During a visit to Oslo, Norway, Mottaki denounced such claims while meeting with Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store, Aftenposten reported.

Mottaki was reacting to allegations made against his nation regarding a seminar for Holocaust skeptics that was allowed to take place in Tehran.

He said that Iran does not doubt the validity of Holocaust claims, but instead it questions why Palestinians are being held accountable. The Iranian official also downplayed comments by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad regarding the nation of Israel.

While Mottaki drew the line at refuting his leader's claim that Israel had no right to exist, the minister said his nation wants to "live in peace" with the world.

The newspaper Mottaki applauded Norway's negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.
