The Gallery of Historical Figures has announced "The Holocaust", a realistic sculpture by G.S. Stuart, will be on display at the museum until Nov. 15 after which it will then enter a private collection in New York.

"This compassionate sculpture captures the suffering of concentration camp prisoners. It reaches out to our museum visitors in a profoundly evocative way", Mark Rothman, executive director of the museum said in a statement. "We are thrilled to give it a temporary home."

Stuart's works are known for high historical accuracy and attention to detail and many of his 400-plus Historical Figures are in museums, including the Smithsonian Institution.

In southern California, the Museum of Ventura County exhibits their collection of 200 Historical Figures on a rotating basis, the Gallery of Historical Figures said.
