NEW YORK, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- A New York company provides the sexually active with proof that they have been tested for sexually transmitted diseases.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

STFree Certifications also has a hotline the cautious can use to check on testing history of people they are considering as partners, the New York Daily News reported.

Eli Dancy, 28, a former club promoter, said he started the company in 2004 because he saw a lot of sexual irresponsibility in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn where he grew up.

"In places like where I grew up and where I worked, there are incredibly high HIV and STD rates", Dancy told the News. "This card opens up the conversation for people to talk about it."

The company operates a van that travels the city providing opportunities for New Yorkers to register. Customers can also register online.

Once they have signed up, they must get tested and provide proof of the results. Members are given a PIN number so only those they trust have access to their information.

Dancy said 15,000 people have registered so far in New York and across the country.
