ATLANTA, July 3 (UPI) -- Cole Hamels took a shutout into the ninth inning Thursday and the Philadelphia Phillies completed their second road sweep of Atlanta this season with a 4-1 win.

Hamels (8-5) threw a season-high 125 pitches and left after 8 2/3 innings, having allowed a run on five hits.

After Chipper Jones and Brian McCann both doubled to produce the Atlanta run in the ninth, Tom Gordon came on and retired Jeff Francoeur on one pitch to end the game and earn his second save.

The Phillies got solo homers from Chase Utley in the first, Ryan Howard in the sixth and Pedro Feliz in the 10th. Utley has hit 24 homers this year and Howard has 22.

The loss went to Jair Jurrjens (8-4), who allowed eight hits and four runs over seven innings.

Philadelphia also swept a series from the Braves in Atlanta June 6-8.

The Phillies are 3-0 in July after losing 11 of their final 14 games in June.
