IRVING, Texas - Brandon Jacobs had a short touchdown run and Eli Manning put together a crucial touchdown drive late in the first half to give the New York Giants a 21-17 lead over the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth quarter of Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Nick Folk kicked a 34-yard field goal to cap another time-consuming drive by the Cowboys for a 17-14 lead in the third quarter.

If the Cowboys win, they'll play the Packers for the second time this season at Texas Stadium, this time with a Super Bowl berth on the line. Dallas won 37-27 at the end of November.

If not, the Giants will have to go to Lambeau Field and at least one Manning will still have a chance to get to the Super Bowl.

Folk's go-ahead field goal with 6:53 left in the third quarter capped the first offensive possession by either team after halftime. The Cowboys had to settle for a field goal after the ball slipped out of Tony Romo's hand and his pass sailed high over the head of an open Terrell Owens cutting across the middle inside the 5.

Dallas had scoring drives of 90 and 96 yards in the second quarter.

Pro Bowl running back Marion Barber had 101 yards and a touchdown by halftime in his first start of the season.

Barber's 1-yard plunge with 53 seconds in the half left capped a 20-play, 90-yard drive that took 10 1/2 minutes. That was the longest drive of the season in number of plays and time of possession for the Cowboys, and against the Giants.

But New York then drove 71 yards in seven plays to tie it on Manning's second TD pass to Amani Toomer, a 4-yarder, with 7 seconds left.

The defending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts and older brother Peyton won't be there again after a 28-24 home loss to San Diego in the AFC game earlier Sunday.

Dallas, playing its first home playoff game since December 1998, is going for a three-game season sweep of the Giants. It's the 92nd meeting between the NFC East rivals, but the first time they've ever faced each other in the playoffs.

Like Owens' 4-yard TD catch on the first play of the second quarter that ended a 96-yard drive, Barber's score was reviewed by replay before being confirmed by officials.

While Barber stretched to get the ball over the goal line, his knee hit the ground, so there was a booth review with the score confirmed.

Owens' TD catch from Tony Romo was near the side of the end zone, and he had to shuffle his feet to stay inbound. The Giants challenged the call, but the TD call was upheld.

Dallas converted six third-downs on its 10 1/2-minute drive, including three third-down runs by Barber. Owens had third-down catches of 11 and 20 yards and Terry Glenn's first catch of the season converted another third down.

On a third-and-7, Glenn caught a pass in the flat, then slipped, but got enough for the first down. Glenn missed the first 15 games after two knee operations in a six-week period before the season. He didn't have a catch in his debut in the regular season finale at Washington.

Toomer had a season-long 52-yard catch to cap the opening drive of the game and the Giants took a quick lead.

Toomer caught the ball in an open gap near the 40, slipped away from Greg Ellis, out of the grasp of Anthony Henry and then outran another defender to the end zone. It was his longest catch since 2003.

Since losing 45-35 in the season opener at Texas Stadium four months ago, the Giants have won eight straight road games. That includes last week's 24-14 victory at Tampa Bay in the wild-card game.

Barber, starting in place of Julius Jones, had five carries for 72 yards on the first TD drive.

Dallas has never beaten a team three times in a season. Teams going for a three-game season sweep are 11-6 since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970.

The Giants played without veteran cornerback Sam Madison (pulled stomach muscle) and backup Kevin Dockery (hip flexor).
