DALLAS, May 14 (UPI) -- Marty Turco made 34 saves Wednesday, helping Dallas extend its season with a 3-1 victory over Detroit in the Western Conference finals.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

After losing the first three games of the best-of-seven series, Dallas came up with two third-period goals to halt Detroit's playoff winning streak at nine.

The Red Wings were prevented from earning a berth in the Stanley Cup finals, but have three more chances to do so -- the first coming when Detroit hosts Game 5 Saturday.

Dallas took a 1-0 lead into the third period only to have Henrik Zetterberg tie it just 49 seconds into the stanza.

Detroit's Brian Rafalski was called for tripping at 5:17 of the third and the Stars capitalized with a go-ahead goal from Mike Modano 18 seconds later. Brenden Morrow added insurance by scoring on a wrist shot with 5:26 to play.

Chris Osgood made 19 saves for the Red Wings, but he suffered his first loss since replacing Dominik Hasek with Detroit's opening-round series against Nashville tied at 2-2.

Only twice in NHL history has a team rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win a seven-game series.
