DALLAS, May 12 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk scored his first career playoff hat trick Monday in Detroit's 5-2 win over Dallas that gave the Red Wings a 3-0 edge in their Western finals.

Henrik Zetterberg added a goal and two assists for Detroit, which is one win away from reaching the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since winning the NHL championship in 2002.

Chris Osgood made 16 saves to remain perfect in the post-season.The Detroit goalie has won nine consecutive playoff games this season to tie his own franchise record set from the tail end of the 1998 and start of the 1999 playoffs.

Nicklas Grossman and Brad Richards scored for the Stars, who face elimination in Game 4 in Dallas Wednesday.
