SYLVANIA, N.H., July 30 (UPI) -- New Hampshire Motor Speedway executive Jerry Gappens is angry that the venue will not be the site of an Indy Racing League event next season.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

When the IRL's 2009 schedule was released on Wednesday, the NHMS was one of the tracks not included on the schedule.

Also missing were Nashville and Las Vegas.

Those venues were to be included in a five-race package proposed in Forth Worth by Texas Motor Speeday President Eddie Gossage.

Gappens voiced his anger in a statement ahead of the schedule's release.

He said the decision was a "slap in the face" to NHMS Chairman Bruton Smith.

"Our company has been very supportive of the Indy Racing League since its inception", Gappens said. "They asked (Smith) to host the series finale in Las Vegas, which he agreed to and even offered the speedway and financial support to do it this year. Having attended that meeting in early June, it's hard to believe that neither is on the new schedule."
