NEW YORK, June 11 (UPI) -- A former NASCAR official has filed a $250 million lawsuit in federal court in New York accusing the motor racing circuit of racial and sexual harassment.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Mauricia Grant, who was NASCAR's only black female official, charges she was terminated from her job as a "technical inspector" for complaining about the way she was being treated", USA Today reported Wednesday.

In the suit, Grant says NASCAR officials referred to her as "nappy headed Mo", "Mohammed" and "al-Qaida", and some even exposed themselves to her.

The suit says Grant has been suffering severe emotional distress since she was fired from her job last October.

"I don't want this (lawsuit) to be my legacy as the first African-American female to do this job", Grant told USA Today.

A spokesman for the circuit declined to comment saying NASCAR hasn't had a chance to review the lawsuit filed on Tuesday.
