STURGIS, S.D., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Likely Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain hogged some time during the annual motorcycle festival in Sturgis, S.D.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

McCain's appeared Monday before an audience of several thousand bikers at the Buffalo Chip Campground during the nine-day Sturgis Bike Week, an event featuring bikers, many military veterans, rockers and off-color banners showing support for the Arizona Republican, Politico reported.

"Don't let November 4 find you on the open road", McCain told the audience. "I'm counting on you to show up."

Cliff Leach, a U.S. National Guard veteran, introduced McCain with a biker's view of an American utopia, the Washington political Web site said.

"We believe in a beautiful America. A land of beautiful roads, a land of beautiful bikes, ice-cold beers and a land of beautiful women", Leach said. "And that's the best hoo-ah a man can get."
